A world of new investments, what ones are best?
In this new age of Blockchain and Cryptocurrency, everything is alien to many not in the tech space already, but can be rather overwhelming even for those just new to the area.
While I am not going to go over what Blockchain or Cryptocurrency are in this article (as others have done it many MANY times and far better than I could), I will try to help give you an insight into what’s out there.
If you do want to know more about Blockchain and Cryptocurrency you can view this article by the amazing BlockGeeks — https://blockgeeks.com/guides/dapps/
So I’m going to list the dApps (Decentralized Applications) I have personally tried, what I liked, if I feel it’s worth your time and investment into their ecosystem.
First off, the game that got me into it all to begin with, Axie Infinity.
Axie Infinity is what I would imagine a cross between Pokemon and Tamagotchi to be, built on Blockchain, where you can Breed, Buy, Sell, Collect, Raise, Battle them.
Axies are the creatures, they come in a variety of shapes, sizes, colours, patterns and classes.
It’s one of those games where it can be as simple or as advanced as you make it out to be. Do you just want to collect really cute Axies? Do you want the ultimate battling team? Do you want the fastest Axie in existence to win some Axie Sushi races?
You can tailor your experience to your free time and budget.
There are a plethora of things to do currently, with MANY more coming soon due to the land part of the game opening up in the future.
That is going to open up an entirely new ecosystem and boost the current one.
So prospects for the long term investment are insanely good right now.
The Axie Infinity community is one of the strongest I have seen, very helpful, active, generous and always willing to get involved. They also really respect the developers and those who support the game. Something that is quite rare in these sort of endeavours usually.
I think that it helps that the developers are extremely active in the community, always on their Discord and take on board community feedback.
Axie Sushi is one of the community made 3rd party games that is a lot of fun and is even supported by the original devs.
Race your Axies against others and claim dominance on the leaderboard.
This type of thing is what I am excited to see in the future, games built upon data of other games, keeping it fresh as it ages.
Definitely recommend Axie Infinity and you can get involved in the ecosystem for a couple of dollars, why wouldn’t you?

This next one is fairly new to me, but they are fairly tied with Axie Infinity in many respects in terms of how they run things, which is ALWAYS a good thing.
This is Battle Racers, a blockchain arcade racer game with lots of collectibility and head to head competition.
Essentially it boils down to collecting car parts of various rarities, building them into a completely customised car and then racing against other people.
This is all being built with Decentraland in mind at first, which is another project that opens up many doors for investors and developers.
I was lucky enough to play in the closed beta and I have to say it was LOADS of fun! Not only do the car parts matter but choosing the right starting weapons in a race are key, as well as the use of them during the race.
Was nice to wander around the arena taking part in races, seeing other people in the virtual space and having these intense battles for 1st place.
There are a decent variety of cars / parts available already with many more to come as time goes on, including many interesting brand cross overs which look great!
Battle Racers is launching their pre-sale on 21st May 2019, where you can invest in purchasing crates that house a plethora of parts, ranging from Common to Epic, with a VERY rare chance of a Legendary part.
You can chat with the developers and community on their Discord, everyone’s lovely and active too.
This is one to keep an eye on, I’ll be participating in the pre-sale and see what I can nab for those races down the line.
As someone who loves collectibles with a bit of style, ZED.run really drew my eye, looks slick, professional and has a great deal of longevity due to the nature of the NFT.
The premise once again is simple, buy a horse, race it, breed it, create a legacy that makes it more valuable. Whether you just want to collect horses, be the best stable by breeding, focus on racing alone, it’s all up to you, I like that approach.
Personally I now have two horses, that I can breed together once breeding is implemented (very soon apparently), I will get to grips with it and see if I create any worthy offspring.
The aspect that I am focusing on mainly is the actual racing, races will run 24/7 and I am interested in seeing how that plays out, what the benefits are, what types of horses fair best etc.
Although I know there are dedicated people already in the ecosystem that are hoarding certain bloodlines, colours, even names, as they are all generated and unique, there is a market for everything it seems!
The art style for me personally is lovely with the colourful polygonal style but preserving the necessary details. Gonna be awesome to hopefully see these horses on the track one day.
Next I HAVE to talk about Cent, this is one project that I use daily and is revolutionising the way we interact with social media and can generate a passive income doing what you love.
Boiled down to it’s roots, it’s an incentive based social media platform based on Blockchain, that allows users to post stories, text, images, or whatever their heart desires.
So why is that so revolutionary?
Well there are a couple of things, users control the platform, you control what is popular and what isn’t (ala Reddit) via their engagement, whether that be upvoting, seeding (get to that in a sec), commenting and sharing posts.
This puts good content in front of the Cent masses, but not only does it do that, it enables the users who enjoy the content to Seed the content, which means they place down a direct tip to the users that posted it.
A seed is split between the creator directly and those who have previously seeded, the earlier you seed the more benefits YOU get also. When more people seed, the previous seeders get a portion of the seed, so those who SUPPORT the content and propagate it are also rewarded.
That opens up new possibilities for curated content, you find something you like and want to support, seed it, you and the creator are rewarded if it gets popular.
Creators can also offer a bounty on their posts, which is a dedicated amount of money they are willing to invest in return for engagement on their post in a certain fashion.
Both creators and other users can also directly tip replies and messages.
Cent has also very recently updated and included a direct messaging function AND a direct payment system. So you can talk privately between groups of people or individuals AND send them money directly. How awesome is that?
It is one of the most supportive platforms for content creators and users alike.
As everyone should know by now, I am a MASSIVE gamer, so I love any projects that involve bringing the gaming industry a step further.
This is where ZENZO comes in.
ZENZO is an ecosystem that is aiming to empower gamers, through blockchain technology and cryptocurrency.
They are aiming to create a suite of products that give back to gamers through discounts, unique and limited products, applications, games and an engaging, supportive community. Not to mention voting power / creative feedback for game development, tournaments and just general engagement with other gamers.
They recently released their ARCADE, where you can buy games at a discount for ZNZ. It’s super slick and fast, enabling increased privacy and digital product delivery.
Interesting to see what other tools this great team creates!
Every web page can be turned into a Marble Card, which generates a unique marble pattern background, an image from the page and links directly to a URL. All completely unique, collectible and tradeable.
Check them out — https://marble.cards/
Every digital creation available through MakersPlace is an authentic and truly unique digital creation, signed and issued by the creator — made possible by blockchain technology. Even if the digital creation is copied, it won’t be the authentic and originally signed version.
Great place to buy art work and support creators.

Chainmonsters is a massive multiplayer game set in a retro style world that utilizes blockchain for a premium economic layer.
Reminds me heavily of Pokemon, including the movement, catching and battle system, far more interactive than other games so far. Looks promising!

A virtual world owned by its users, the possibilities of integration in many facets are incredible, a land to tie all dApps together?
Look forward to the future of this project.
Check out Decentraland — https://decentraland.org/
Hope this gave you guys and girls some insight into my experience with dApps and you check some of them out.
